Babylonian Culture

Ancient Babylonia had a very rich culture. One of the most famous creations of Babylonia was astronomy, which actually began as a study of astrology. Babylonians also created perfect catalogues and a fairly accurate calendar which the Jewish people copied later on.

They even created the 60 minute hour, and the 12 hour clock that we use and know so well even today. Another mathematical achievement of the Babylonians is the 360 degree circles that tortures grade 7’s around the world.L

The Babylonians were able to predict eclipses, which they thought announced evil and bad times. They were able to predict eclipses because of the two math systems had developed. These two math systems are what made an astronomic legacy of ancient Babylon.
